Welcome! We're excited to meet you.
We're a team of professional writing coaches who support students enrolled in RRU's graduate certificate, graduate diploma, and degree programs. We'd like to introduce ourselves so you know who you're talking to when you contact the Writing Centre.
Meet Jonathan Faerber – Academic Writing Specialist
Hi, my name is Jonathan Faerber. I am a third-generation Canadian with German heritage through both of my parents (You can hear how I pronounce my German last name). I have been working full-time at Royal Roads University since 2019 as an Academic Writing Specialist. My favourite part of this work has been getting to know so many incredible students and witnessing their learning and growth throughout their programs. I am grateful to live with my family on the beautiful Traditional lands of the Lekwungen-speaking peoples, and I am honoured to be part of the learning community at RRU.
Meet Robin Grazley – Academic Writing Specialist
My name is Robin Grazley (hear my name), and I am a third-generation Canadian of Scottish and Swedish descent. I am grateful to have lived most of my life on the ancestral lands of the Lekwungen-speaking peoples. I joined the RRU Writing Centre as a part-time Academic Writing Specialist in 2021. I look forward to meeting you along your writing journey!
Meet Theresa Bell – Manager, Student Success
My name is Theresa Bell (hear my name) and I’m a fourth-generation Canadian of English, Irish, and Swedish descent. I have lived, worked, and learned on the ancestral lands of the Xwsepsum and Lekwungen ancestors and families since 2003, and I’m the Manager, Student Success, at RRU. I started the Writing Centre in 2007, and in 2018-19, it was my tremendous honour to collaborate with Indigenous Elders and Knowledge Keepers to create the Four Feathers Writing Guide. I’m looking forward to learning more about you and your story!
