The APA (6th ed.) Help Guide and the APA (7th ed.) Help Guide, both of which are downloadable Word documents, don't replace the APA Style manuals; rather, they are intended to provide a general introduction to the 6th and 7th edition APA Style rules. The comprehensive sources for APA Style information remains the 6th and 7th editions of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association.

To have the guide download immediately, we recommend using a browser other than Chrome. If you are using Chrome and the guide doesn't immediately open for you, please right click on the link and choose "Open in a new tab" or "Open a new window". The file will then download in the new tab or window and you can open it. If that doesn't work, please try a different browser.

The guides are updated at least once a year, so please bookmark this page so that you will always access the most up-to-date version of the guide.

If you're a student at RRU and you're unsure of which edition of the APA Style rules you should use, please contact your program office to ask for clarification.

To search for additional information, please visit WriteAnswers and search the FAQs. If you're a RRU student, you can also use the WriteAnswers contact form to send your questions directly to the Writing Centre. We'll send you a private reply as soon as we can, which is typically within one business day of receiving the message.
