Sample Article Citation

Citations or references are the basic publication information for an information source. Think of them like an address, instead of listing someone's name, street name and house number they list information such as the author's name, journal title, volume number and publication date.

You will use citation information to:

  • Help find a particular article using the Journals by Title search tool
  • Request the article from another library (using interlibrary loan)
  • Create your references/bibliography/works cited and/or footnotes
